CM’s brainchild CM-TRANS launched

From our Assam correspondent Shri Bibhujjal Bhattacharya

The CM-TRANS (CM-Transport Randomized Allocation Networked System) was launched on May 13,2022 by the Assam CM on the banks of the Mighty Brahmaputra. CM-TRANS is a revolutionary online work allocation system which will usher in uniform work distribution among the transport offices, improve efficiency, speed up services delivery and eliminate middlemen intervention and corrupt practices. The Hon’ble Transport Minister Shri Chandra Mohan Patowary, Transport Commissioner Shri Adil Khan and other senior officials of the Transport Department and NIC were present on the occasion. The novel system, conceptualized by the Assam CM himself, has been technically implemented by NIC in the Assam Transport Department.
Special Feature
Assam is the pioneering State to have adopted the revolutionary random work allocation system conceived by the Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. CM-TRANS is applicable to all contactless transport services being offered to citizens of Assam and will be gradually extended to all other online transport services.

Working of the System
The new system does away with the concept of verification and approval of applications for services in the District Transport Offices (DTOs) in which they are submitted, and instead allocates them randomly to any of the 32 DTOs of Assam on the basis of their individual workloads. The applications are automatically routed to DTOs with lesser work.
