Initiating VLT&EAS implementation in West Bengal

Kolkata, November 24, 2021:

The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways amended the CMVR by inserting rule 125H, mandating fitment of Vehicle Location Tracking Device & Emergency Button (VLTD) in all Public Service Vehicles (PSV). The Department of Transport, Government of West Bengal, invited NIC along with other solution providers to showcase the Vehicle Location Tracking and Emergency Alert System (VLT&EAS) of NIC on November 24, 2021 at the Paribahan Bhavan II, Kolkata, WestBengal.

Shri Firhad Hakim, Hon’ble MIC Transport Department WB, Shri Rajesh Sinha IAS, Secretary Transport Department and other senior officers of the Department and Directorate took the demonstration.

The NIC team was led by Shri Saibal Sarkar, DDG & State Informatics Officer, WB who gave the introductory briefing on the NIC VLTEA system.Also present in the meeting were ShriAvijit Bhowmick, Scientist-E & State Coordinator, Transport Project, and Shri Surath Mukherjee, Scientist-C of the NIC e-Transport team.

 

Initiating VLT&EAS implementation in West Bengal

Shri Anil Kumar Arya, Scientist F, NIC, Uttarakhand gave the online demonstration of the NIC VLTEA software for the Command & Control Centre, highlighting all the features and benefits of the VLTEAS application system which has been successfully designed, developed and implemented in Uttarakhand with value-additions in Goa and Rajasthan.

The Hon’ble MIC Transport Department, WB and Secretary,Transport Department and other dignitaries of the Department and Directorate appreciated the NIC solution for VLT&EAS.

All queries raised in the meeting were answered by the NIC e-Transport team of Uttarakhand and West Bengal.
